The SDSCO, Inc board is pleased to announce that Paul Levijoki from Hayti, SD will serve as our lobbyist during the 2007 legislative session. Paul and his wife Anita are the parents of 9 children and 10 grandchildren (4 born at home). Because he runs his own business with 3 of his sons, it will be possible for him to spend a lot of time in Pierre during the legislative session. When asked how he feels about being our lobbyist Paul says, "I look forward to the challenges this position presents and working with SDSCO to present our interests to the legislature in a manner that is acceptable to all our members. From my first introduction to midwifery in 1993 I have felt that it is a good cause mainly because it is biblical. My favorite verse on this matter is Exodus 1:20, and my lobbying for this great cause will have a strong Christian emphasis. However considering that not all are Christians, we will progress as we are led by the Spirit and desire that we would not cut ears off in the process. The Lord be with you all and be ready to give account of the hope that lieth within you for you may be called upon to do it.”
