At the Legislative Workshop in April, Ida Darragh explained how midwifery supporters in other states passed out novelty items, when visiting with their legislators to help remind them of midwifery issues. The board has been exploring a number of ideas, since we spoke of this at the Birth Conference in October.

Some of the items we are working on include magnets (graphic on this page) and pencils. We have also ordered some free postcards that have “Midwifery Model of Care” on one side with the other side free to print our message. We could attach these to M &Ms or other candies. We are
also working on stickers that can be placed on any kind of home made goody you would like to bring for your legislators when you come to Pierre. These items will be available from our lobbyist, Paul Leviyoki, in Pierre.
