We are working with the producers of The Business of Being Born to get Ricki Lake to come to South Dakota and help us generate some major media attention in support of home birth families – especially our legislative efforts to license CPMs. We envision a birth forum where Ricki Lake is a guest speaker and we dispel misconceptions about the safety of home births attended by skilled midwives. We will invite legislators and the community at large. We will focus heavily on advertising and possibly charge a small admission fee depending on our expenses for the event.
